All in the Family: Byerwalter Selected Interim SHC President & CEO
When Amir Dan Rubin announced his resignation from Stanford Health Care in September, a transition committee was formed to begin the search for a new leader. To ensure a seamless transition, the committee has selected longtime SHC board member and Stanford alumnus Mariann Byerwalter as interim president and CEO beginning January 2, 2016.
Stanford Named Most Connected Hospital by U.S. News & World Report
Hospitals across the country are striving to embrace technology to drive clinical connectedness, patient safety, patient engagement and provider efficiency. Of the more than 5,000 registered hospitals in the U.S., only 159 were selected as Most Connected by the U.S. News & World Report for 2015-2016. For the second time, Stanford Hospital was named to this list.
Stanford Health Care–ValleyCare Opens Gynecologic Cancer Program
To bring advanced cancer care to the East Bay, Stanford has added two new faculty members in gynecologic oncology to its SHC-ValleyCare facility in Pleasanton. This new program brings minimally invasive robotic surgery for gynecology cancers and other conditions to the Tri-Valley area.

Stanford Health Care continues to be a popular place to receive care. Demand for services has never been higher, largely due to the tremendous care that you all provide to our patients. Our growth for 2015 over 2014 is eight percent in the Emergency Department, eight percent in interventional case volume (OR, IR, Cath Lab, endoscopy), 10 percent in transfer center acceptances and three and a half percent in total inpatient days.
