New Pavilion Brings Expanded Stanford Medicine Services to the Community

Redwood City, Calif.  (June 25, 2018) – Stanford Health Care (SHC) hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony today to celebrate the opening of its new Stanford Medicine Outpatient Center, Pavilion D facility in Redwood City, CA. Attendees included Stanford Health Care leadership and medical staff, community members and public officials. The new facility is scheduled to open for patient care on July 9, 2018.

The Stanford Medicine Outpatient Center was Stanford Health Care’s first outpatient facility, which opened in 2009, extending Stanford’s leading-edge care by offering clinical advancements, coordinated care and an unparalleled patient experience. State-of-the-art medical care and services will be provided in this new building, including an expanded Orthopedic Clinic; Digestive Health Center; Pelvic Health Center; Endoscopy Procedure Suite; and Imaging.

From our collaborative workspaces to our patient rooms, we’ve created a care setting that is customized for seamless coordination, patient comfort, and convenience.”

The facility will expand SHC’s world-class Orthopedic clinical footprint and welcome two new integrated Centers of care. The Digestive Health Center will enable the colocation of gastroenterology, liver and surgery clinics with a nine-procedure endoscopy suite. The Pelvic Health Center will serve patients with urologic, gynecologic and general surgery needs in an interdisciplinary environment providing efficient and attentive care.

The building design is truly integrative. Specialists across different practices will be grouped together in the center of each clinic pod. The collaborative workspaces are designed to foster discussions and consults.

The interior layout and finishes were designed around a team approach to patient care, making it easier for doctors to collaborate and for patients to have a smooth, seamless care experience. Patient-friendly innovations include spacious patient rooms with extra-wide exam chairs for added comfort; consultation rooms for telemedicine visits, patient education and private discussions; a health library; and private surgery prep rooms located just outside each of the procedure rooms. Beautiful artwork, curated from local artists line the halls of all three levels, complementing the building’s soothing interior design, access to natural daylight, and neutral color palette.

The new three-story, 90,000-square-foot facility is located at 420 Broadway Street in Redwood City, CA. The facility will complement a range of outpatient services already available in the Stanford Medicine Outpatient Center, including: orthopedic surgery and sports medicine; dermatology; sleep medicine; and pain management.
