Save a Life, Donate Blood
Stanford Health Care is in urgent need of blood donations. Donating blood is exempt from shelter-in-place restrictions.
With the spread of COVID-19 across the nation, we are urging healthy individuals to donate blood. Blood centers are seeing a drop off in donations due to canceled drives and fewer donors.
Stanford Blood Center is asking for healthy people to donate blood at one of our several, convenient blood center locations in the Bay Area. Donating blood is a great way to engage with your community in a safe way during this time.
Regarding COVID-19 precautions
Donating blood is considered an essential health service so it is an activity that is exempt from shelter-in-place restrictions. It is also safe for donors while they are here. We are taking every precaution and employing physical distancing. We also take a medical history of every donor and give a mini physical as part of our standard practice.
