Thinking of becoming a Nurse Mentor or Mentee?
Would you like to grow professionally or support another nurse to grow professionally?
The Mentor Training Workshop will help you understand the role and responsibilities of the mentor, mentee, manager / supervisor/director and program coordinator.
It will introduce you to an easy to follow step-by-step process to take you through the 2-year SHC Nurse Mentorship Program.
The course will also review the importance of mentoring another nurse and what a healthy mentoring relationship looks like.
The course will provide understanding of the Mentorship and offer tools necessary to help prepare you for the program.
Program Objectives
- Identify the differences between the roles of a preceptor and of a mentor
- Describe the Learner Centered Mentoring Model
- Identify the essentials steps in the mentoring process
- Describe the ways to create a professional development plan
- Identify essentials of professional development
- Identify principles of relationship etiquette
