Happy Nurse Practitioner Week!
It is with great pleasure that I announce that November 9-15 is National Nurse Practitioner Week. At Stanford, there are 178 nurse practitioners (NP)s in a wide range of specialties such as oncology, neurosciences, cardiology, emergency, and orthopedics. In the United States, there are approximately 192,000 NPs. Over 912 million visits are made to NPs in the United States annually!
Nurse practitioners play an integral role in providing high-quality, cost-effective, comprehensive, patient-centered care. NPs works as partners with patients and families, other healthcare professionals, and the public in making educated health care decisions and healthy lifestyle choices.
Please help me thank and recognize your NP colleagues for their significant contributions in making SHC a world-class center of excellence! - Garrett Chan, PhD, APRN, FAEN, FPCN, FNAP, FAAN; Director of Advanced Practice
Outdated Pended/Shared Notes will be Deleted
In our continuing efforts to ensure data integrity within the Epic EMR we have identified a large number of incomplete pended/shared notes on Inpatient admissions. These notes are not a part of the legal medical record. Starting 11/15/14, all incomplete notes older than 90-days from discharge will be deleted. Please contact Bernice Zander, Director of EHR Integrity and HIMS Operations, bzander@stanfordhealthcare.org, with any questions or concerns.
