Clinical Nutrition Services at Stanford Health Care (SHC) provides medical nutrition therapy services to patients within SHC as well as the community. The department consists of clinical dietitians with the professional title and credential of Registered Dietitian (RD). Our staff of highly experienced and specialized RDs provide evidence-based nutrition care to optimize patients’ recovery and well-being in the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Meet our leaders
Meagan Moyer, MPH, RD joined Stanford Health Care in November 2018 to become the Director of Clinical Nutrition. Meagan enjoys leading her team of dedicated, passionate and highly motivated clinical nutrition experts. Prior to coming to Stanford, Meagan was the Program Manager for Emory’s Office of Telehealth where she set up virtual clinics across multiple medical specialties. Meagan worked in patient care at the Emory Bariatric Center where she cared for patients undergoing surgical and non-surgical weight loss. Meagan earned her Master’s degree in Public Health from Emory University and her Bachelors of Science in Dietetics from Purdue University.
Janine Berta
MS, RD, CNSC
Supervisor, Clinical Nutrition and Critical Care Dietitian
Janine Berta, MS, RD, CNSC has been with Stanford Clinical Nutrition since 2011 and is a critical care dietitian and specializes in ketogenic therapy. Janine works in the medical, surgical, and neuro ICUs where she champions Volume Based Tube Feeding. Janine has been serving as a Clinical Nutrition Supervisor since 2016 and oversees inpatient staff, policies, and workflows. Janine obtained a B.S. in Human Biology from UCSD, Dual M.S. in Nutritional Sciences and Exercise Physiology at SJSU where she concurrently completed the Didactic Program in Dietetics, and completed her Dietetic Internship at UCSF.
Natalie Chan
RD, CNSC, CTTD
Supervisor, Clinical Nutrition and Lung Transplant Dietitian
Natalie Chan, RD, CNSC, CTTD is a Clinical Nutrition Supervisor at Stanford Health Care who works with a high performing team of dietitians. Nataliealso provides patient care as a clinical dietitian for lung transplant patients and enjoys working with this population over 5 years. Natalie received a degree in Clinical Nutrition from UC Davis and completed her dietetics training in Sarasota, Florida. She holds specialty certifications in nutrition support and transplant nutrition. Prior to working at Stanford, she worked with cardiothoracic surgery patients at another nationally ranked academic medical center. During her free time, she enjoys camping, hiking and spending time with her family, friends, and pug, Olive.
Dania Saarony
MS, RD, CSOWM
Supervisor, Clinical Nutrition and Nutrition Clinic Dietitian
Dania Saarony, MS, RD, CSOWM earned her graduate degree in Nutrition and Food Sciences researching pediatric obesity and contributing to the Pediatric Weight Management Program at the University of Vermont Medical Center where she began her career and was awarded Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year (Vermont). In 2015 she joined the Clinical Nutrition team at Stanford Health Care as lead RD in the Bariatric Metabolic Interdisciplinary Clinic. There she could pursue her passion of helping patients optimize their health through medical nutrition therapy and complete the Specialty Certification in Obesity and Weight Management. Dania loves her current role as Clinical Nutrition Supervisor supporting ambulatory nutrition programs and the Clinical Nutrition team. On the weekends, you can find her on a hike with her wonderful husband and their sweet pup or cooking up a storm (veggies of course!).
