Engaging Nurses in Waste Sorting Quality:
Liquids Reduction in Waste and Waste Sorting Guide. Training, Education, and Feedback
Project Description
Joe promoted and gathered feedback on use and content of the Waste Sorting Guide via Nursing Huddles. Joe also advised on the application and content based on Nursing input. Joe evaluated and piloted process improvements to eliminate liquids from the municipal waste bin.
Impact
- Total of 1,000 look-ups of the Waste Sorting App or Sorting Game played in Patient Care areas in 1 year
- Implementation of 2 process improvements to eliminate water from the municipal waste bins on Fellow’s clinical unit
- Presentation of waste sorting guide in 12 huddles and 3 events
- Presented summary of insights on sources of liquids in municipal bin in clinical areas and effective behaviour change levers
