Support COVID-19 Clinical Care and Research
At this time of unfolding challenge, the Stanford Medicine community has reached out in unprecedented ways to offer support for the efforts of researchers and caregivers on the front lines of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
In response, we have expedited the creation of two newly established funds to aid in advancing efforts in both clinical care and research.
Stanford Blood Center seeking those who have recovered from COVID-19 as plasma donors
The Stanford Blood Center's COVID-19 convalescent plasma program involves taking plasma donations from recovered COVID-19 patients and transfusing that plasma into hospitalized COVID-19 patients with the goal of helping the recipients. Patients must have had a positive COVID-19 test and be at least 14 days symptom free.
Save a Life, Donate Blood
Thank you to those who have already donated blood and those who have made an appointment for the coming weeks!
Due to your tremendous support, it appears our blood supply is steady for the time being. We ask, however, that you kindly keep your scheduled appointments and donate blood as usual since the local need for blood is constant and can spike at any time.
Donate Supplies
At Stanford Medicine, we are humbled by the generosity of all who have inquired about donating supplies to support our staff and patients during the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Stanford Medicine Supply Chain team has worked diligently to obtain necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) for our health care workers on the front lines. We have also been grateful for the outreach of our community with donations of PPE.
Due to these generous donations, as well as new partnerships that we’ve forged with suppliers, Stanford Medicine is now comfortable closing the Donation Centers.
We are currently only accepting the following items:
- 3M N95 Masks
- 1860, Standard
- 1860s, Small
- 1870, Large
- Isolation or surgical gowns
- AAMI-certified Level 3 or Level 4
Donations must be in unopened, original packaging and in accordance with approved hospital standards. Please contact us at covid19supplies@stanfordhealthcare.org for details on donation pick-up and delivery.
