Biography


He is currently a Professor of Medicine at Stanford where he serves as the Section Chief of Heart Failure, Cardiac Transplantation, and Mechanical Circulatory Support. He sees patients both in the clinic and in the hospital who have advanced heart failure or who have received cardiac transplantation or mechanical circulatory support.

His research interests are in clinical outcomes in patients after transplant and mechanical support as well as novel approaches to immunosuppression. He has participated in many single-center and multi-institutional research studies and has published widely in the fields of transplant and mechanical support. He served as President of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation in 2018.

He worked me into an earlier appt due to my condition which I really appreciate it. He was very nice, personable, was not in an hurry and spent extra time with me. He explained everything in detail and answered all my questions. He seemed very knowledgeable & genuinely caring. He also had a plan of action for me and made me feel very hopeful about my future.

He is a excellent doctor. I am about to have surgery on my shoulder he made sure to let me know is will have to stop my blood thinner before my surgery and after the surgery i will have to double up on my water pill and i should talk to the doctor doing the surgery
