Immune Monitoring to Predict and Improve Surgical Recovery
Over 40 million Americans undergo surgery every year, yet too little is known about who will recover well and who will struggle to regain functionality. A Stanford research trio finds this ambiguity difficult to accept. Using mass cytometry coupled with deep phenotyping and advanced bio-computational methods, they have been able to identify unique and patient-specific immune signatures that are strongly correlated with patients’ post-surgical recovery.
CELT Graduates Lead Quality Improvement Efforts throughout Stanford
