Our infectious disease clinics provide state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of infections. We also provide travel immunizations and other prevention services. Our team of infectious disease doctors have specialized expertise in many areas, including:

Care and Treatment of Infectious Diseases

Expertise

Stanford Health Care's infectious diseases clinics provide state-to-the-art diagnosis and treatment for patients with various kinds of infections. We have over 10 clinic doctors with highly specialized expertise at the following Bay Area clinics:


Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) Clinic

Stanford Health Care is devoted to providing the highest quality care to our ME/CFS patients and their families. Our highly experienced, ME/CFS-specialized team includes physicians and physician assistants who are dedicated to our ME/CFS patients full-time. Currently we have MD providers in infectious diseases and primary care and will soon add physicians with expertise in other specialties. 

Working in close partnership with our clinicians, researchers at the Stanford University School of Medicine pursue a full range of research efforts in ME/CFS. These include research programs in neurology, neuroradiology and cardiology, as well as new avenues of translational research.

General Infectious Diseases Clinic

Treats infections of different etiologies and of different organ systems, from bacterial pneumonia, Clostridium difficile colitis (C. diff) to viral meningitis.

Immunocompromised Host Infectious Diseases Clinic

Provides care to patients with suppressed immune systems, such as those with bone marrow transplants, solid organ transplants, cancer, or other forms of immunodeficiency.

Orthopaedic Infectious Diseases Clinic

Co-located with Stanford Orthopaedic Clinics at the Redwood City campus to provide care for patients with bone and joint infections, such as osteomyelitis or prosthetic joint infections.

Positive Care Clinic

Provides HIV specialty care, HIV prevention services, as well as confidential testing, treatment, prevention, and education for sexually transmitted diseases.

Cystic Fibrosis Infectious Diseases Clinic

Located within the Stanford Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Clinic to provide consultation and management for CF patients with infectious complications.

Clinical trials are research studies that evaluate a new medical approach, device, drug, or other treatment. As a Stanford Health Care patient, you may have access to the latest, advanced clinical trials.
