Interventional Neuroradiology Program
Interventional Neuroradiology Program
For more than 25 years, the Stanford Interventional Neuroradiology Program has been at the forefront of developing advanced endovascular therapies to treat vascular problems of the brain, head and neck, and spine.

Care and Treatment
Expertise
Our interventional neuroradiology team has extensive expertise in providing minimally invasive treatments for diverse problems involving the brain, head and neck, and spine. The Stanford Interventional Neuroradiology Program is one of the busiest neurointerventional programs in the West Coast, annually performing about:
- 250 neurointerventional procedures
- 200 percutaneous procedures
- 600 diagnostic angiograms
The neurointerventional team participates in the latest research in the field. As an integral part of the Stanford Stroke Center, the program has been a leader in endovascular stroke research, participating in landmark multicenter trials for the treatment of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke. This allows the program to provide access to the newest treatment options and devices, offered through clinical trials or after clinical trials have led to device approval.
New Brain Aneurysm Treatment at Stanford Hospital Supplies Hope
It used to be impossible to treat large aneurysms in the carotid artery, like Barbara Maluo’s. Now treatment is available at Stanford with a new type of stent.
Clinical Trials
Clinical trials are research studies that evaluate a new medical approach, device, drug, or other treatment. As a Stanford Health Care patient, you may have access to the latest, advanced clinical trials.
Open trials refer to studies currently accepting participants. Closed trials are not currently enrolling, but may open in the future.
For Patients
For your convenience, you may check in for all same-day appointments at the Stanford Neuroscience Health Center through a centralized, check-in desk near the front lobby. In addition to all outpatient services, you also can access onsite pre-surgery consultations at the center.
