Treatment for Cancer Pain
Treatment for Pain
Specific treatment for pain will be determined by your doctor based on the following:
- Your age, overall health, and medical history
- Type of cancer
- Extent of disease
- Your tolerance for specific medications, procedures, or therapies
- Expectations for the course of the condition
- Your opinion or preference
Methods for reducing pain are classified as either pharmacological or non-pharmacological.
Clinical Trials
Clinical trials are research studies that evaluate a new medical approach, device, drug, or other treatment. As a Stanford Health Care patient, you may have access to the latest, advanced clinical trials.
Open trials refer to studies currently accepting participants. Closed trials are not currently enrolling, but may open in the future.
