Complications – Endoscopic Mucosal Resection
Complications Associated with Endoscopic Mucosal Resection
As with any procedure, it is possible for complications to happen. However, this is uncommon. Our Digestive Health Center experts take extra steps before, during, and after your procedure to help you avoid complications.
Possible complications associated with endoscopic mucosal resection include:
- Bleeding
- Chest pain
- Small hole or tear (perforation) in your esophagus or rectum
- Narrowing in your esophagus or intestine (stricture)
- Reactions to the sedative
- Sore throat
