Treatments for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy
Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Treatments
Many patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy never need treatment. However, it is imperative for all patients to be monitored by a cardiologist. A cardiologist will work with the patient to determine an individualized plan for monitoring, medical therapy, intervention and follow-up.
The patient will communicate with the healthcare provider to determine treatment options based on factors such as:
- Age
- Overall health
- Medical history
- Extent of the disease
- Tolerance for specific medications, procedures, or therapies
- Expectations for the course of the disease

Clinical Trials
Clinical trials are research studies that evaluate a new medical approach, device, drug, or other treatment. As a Stanford Health Care patient, you may have access to the latest, advanced clinical trials.
Open trials refer to studies currently accepting participants. Closed trials are not currently enrolling, but may open in the future.
