About this Condition: Astrocytoma
Risk Factors for Astrocytoma
People who have family histories of certain genetic disorders may face a greater risk of developing astrocytomas. These disorders are caused by genetic changes passed down from parents. The risk of developing an astrocytoma also increases with age and previous exposure to radiation, such as radiation therapy for another medical condition.
Clinical Trials for Astrocytoma
Clinical trials are research studies that evaluate a new medical approach, device, drug, or other treatment. As a Stanford Health Care patient, you may have access to the latest, advanced clinical trials.
Open trials refer to studies currently accepting participants. Closed trials are not currently enrolling, but may open in the future.
