Diabetic Retinopathy Symptoms
Diabetic Retinopathy Symptoms
People with diabetic retinopathy typically do not notice vision problems during the disease's early stages. When complications do arise, they usually affect both eyes and can include:
- Particles floating in your vision (learn more about floaters)
- Blurred or distorted vision
- Vision that alternates between blurry and clear
- Decreased night vision
- Blank or dark areas in field of vision
- Decreased vision, blindness or only perceiving light and dark
- Colors that seem washed out or otherwise changed
Other medical conditions and eye problems can cause similar symptoms. Please see one of our doctors for an accurate diagnosis. Contact us immediately if you experience sudden vision changes or your vision becomes blurry, spotty or hazy.
