Causes of Chlamydia
A bacterium called Chlamydia trachomatis causes chlamydia. Most cases of chlamydia are transmitted from person to person through oral, anal, or vaginal sex. Pregnant women may also pass the infection on to their babies during vaginal childbirth. This is because the newborn is exposed to the mother's blood and other bodily fluids during birth.
