Meet Our Staff
Mary Song, Manager
Mary started at Stanford Health Care in 2008 as the Accreditation Quality Manager, then a Performance Improvement Consultant in 2010. Starting in 2015, Mary became the Program Manager of the Patient & Family Partner Program. She oversaw 140 Patient and Family Partners volunteering across Stanford Health Care’s 14 Patient & Family Advisory Councils and improvement projects and committees. Overseeing the onboarding and matching of volunteering requests for this subset of Stanford’s volunteers, Mary is excited about the expansion of her role in supporting all volunteers at Stanford Health Care. She enjoys volunteering in the community with her family, especially with her 2 young boys. Mary is originally from Massachusetts and received her master's degree in Public Health from Tufts University.
Addie Klein, Program Coordinator
Adrienne (Addie) Kara Klein is one of two Program Coordinators for Volunteer Resources at Stanford Health Care. She has been with Stanford since 2015. Addie has a background in health, beauty and nutrition, working for various brokerages as a Sales Representative, and has a passion for health and fitness. Addie carried this background into the health care setting and has joined a team that supports overall well-being. Addie spends her time volunteering for environmental and animal support organizations, assisting with an art program for kids at a local shelter, and walking dogs for people with mobility issues. She also enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, photography, and most importantly, hanging out with her dog.
Katie Smith, Program Coordinator
Katie Smith is one of two Program Coordinators for Volunteer Resources at Stanford Health Care. Prior to this role, Katie spent 8 years coordinating volunteers for direct service programs and community events at The Health Trust. She also implemented an AmeriCorps program focused on providing garden-based education throughout Santa Clara County, and increasing capacity of local urban agriculture partners. As a new member of the Volunteer Resources team, Katie is looking forward to providing Stanford Health Care volunteers with a positive and meaningful experience. Katie is a former National Service volunteer with AmeriCorps VISTA, and has volunteered for a variety of community health events in the Bay Area. Her favorite place to volunteer is the Jerry Larson FOODBasket in San Jose. Katie has recently returned to the Bay Area, and is eager to introduce her young son to local family-friendly volunteer opportunities. Katie grew up in Central New York. She enjoys cooking with her family and visiting the local farmers’ markets. Katie received her bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science and Anthropology from San Jose State University.
