What Are the Symptoms of NASH?
In the early stages of NASH, you may not experience any symptoms. As your condition worsens, you may start to notice the effects of chronic liver damage (cirrhosis). This may happen years, possibly decades later.
The symptoms of cirrhosis include:
- Losing muscle tone (atrophy)
- Internal bleeding
- Bruising easily
- Loss of appetite and weight loss
- Spider-like veins (spider veins) just beneath the surface of your skin
- Yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice)
- Fluid build-up and swelling of the legs (edema) and abdomen (ascites)
- Confusion, memory loss, poor concentration, and mental fog
